Madialagan currently working as a trainer started his career following his father’s footsteps as a jockey. He started working under the British government, as a riding boy at the Sri Lanka Turf Club. In the year 1903, he got his jockey license from SLTC and started riding till the year 2006.

 

He has been to many countries on work, namely, Dubai, America and Baharain. He won two races as a jockey during his time in Baharain in the year 1991 working for Ameri Court Stable under trainer Pet Rohana. Worked for Sheik Ahamed Stable in Dubai and travelled with his boss Durba Selvarathnam absorbing knowledge. One he returned to Sri Lanka, he worked at the SLTC as a jockey and won many races and won Governor’s Cup races  riding “Boomerang” and “Court of Appeal.”

 

In the year 2006, Madialagan received his Training License to continue in the industry and follow his passion. He celebrated a hat-trick-win training “Double Fogle,” owned by Mr. Ajantha De Souza and, “Spririted Touch” owned by Group of Manaro Stables winning three Governor’s Cups.
