The Magic Million Race Day on 3rd April 2022 was a spectacle of speed, elegance, and excitement, featuring a series of thrilling races showcasing top-class Thoroughbred horses. Held at the RTC Nuwara Eliya racecourse, the atmosphere was electric as spectators eagerly awaited the unfolding drama on the track.

The day kicked off with the prestigious Blackpool Hotel Trophy, a sprint over 1070 meters, where the talented Krabi, owned by Ms. Deepthika Jayakodi and trained by Raju Virupakshaiah, emerged victorious under the skilled guidance of jockey Aneel.

Next, attention turned to the Alpine Hotel Trophy, another 1070-meter dash, where Godsword, owned by Ms. Suranji Jayakodi and trained by Raju Virupakshaiah, showcased its speed and agility, ridden to success by jockey C. Umesh.

As the day progressed, the anticipation heightened with the arrival of the main event, the RTC Magic Million Cup, a test of stamina and endurance over 1600 meters. Spirited Touch, owned by MGMR Credit & Investment (Pvt) Ltd and trained by S.V. Mathialagan, delivered a masterful performance, guided to victory by jockey P.S. Kaviraj, capturing the hearts of spectators and etching its name in racing history.

The excitement continued with the fiercely contested Chariot Cup, a 1400-meter battle of champions. Legendary Princes, representing Edwards Stables and trained by Raju Virupakshaiah, displayed sheer determination and skill, crossing the finish line first under jockey L. Dayalan's expert handling.

Finally, the day culminated with the exhilarating Asriel Cup, another 1400-meter showdown, where Western Wind, owned by Mr. Gamini Jayaratne & Mrs. Chamari Jayaratne and trained by Sridher Selvaratnam, demonstrated its prowess, galloping to victory with jockey A.Imran Khan in the saddle.
