Mr. Cyrus Madan

 

            Mr. Madan born on the 25th of January 1959, married in 1988 with three beautiful children is arguably the best race caller in India! He has been a Race Commentator since 1978 and have commentated at every Race Course in India. He has immense knowledge and expertise as he has held many prestigious titles in the industry such as;

​

            Chairman and Senior Steward of the Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) from April 2007 to March 2011. Chairman of INDIAN PATTERN COMMITTEE . This appointment was made by the Turf Authorities Of India in the year 2010. The Indian Pattern Committee is a Panel formed on International standards and oversees the Grading of Races in the country so that it conforms to the International Guidelines. Co-Chairman of the INTERNATIONAL STEWARDS CONFERENCE (ASIAN RACING CONFERENCE) held in January 2016 in Mumbai, India. Also a member of The Organizing Committee of the Asian Racing Conference 2016 and Chaired The Business Session – MEDIA AND THE 21st CENTURY FAN at the same. He has been a Steward at Royal Calcutta Turf Club from October 2017.


            Mr. Madan was the Official Auctioneer for the All India Annual Thoroughbred Auction Sales since 1998. Functioning as a Professional Auctioneer for Art Auction Houses in India. He was also appointed as Auctioneer of the Bangladesh Premier (Cricket) League in Dhaka in 2012 and 2013.


            Mr. Madan has anchored and presented racing on television for Star Sports, Ten Sports, Neo Sports and Doordarshan since 1991 and still host Racing Programmes on TV.


            He has worked as a Racing Journalist for some of the leading  Newspapers in India, such as The Hindu, Telegraph, Mid Day and Statesman. Edited and published a Weekly Racing Paper called TURFITE for three years while based in Bombay from 1981 to 1984. Mr. Madan has also contributed articles in National Magazines like India Today and Sportsworld.


            Mr. Madan also worked as a Stipendiary Steward in RCTC for two years from 1984 to 1986 before leaving  to take over his Family Business.
